Horizontal Boring in India 🇮🇳
Horizontal boring has been developed (or is developing) in India 🇮🇳. When you dig a well, often water flow below reduces. One way to correct (or increase water flow) is to drill horizontally on the side of the well below (maybe 30 ft or more). Interestingly, this concept was invented by a Karnataka rickshaw 🛺 driver.
The idea is to get water from the surrounding ground below. He made a device (which you can observe in the video) that goes up to 300 ft horizontally. If water flow deep down is obstructed due to mud or small stones, this can revive it. If drilling is at an angle (maybe one or two degrees up from horizontal), you get automatic gravitational pull right into the well.
This way, you can pierce several drills around the wall of the well. You can repeat the process every five or ten feet. If the diameter of your well is 100 ft, the effective area you are covering will be 100 ft + 300 ft = 400 ft. If you drill a similar hole just 180 degrees opposite, your effective area increases by 300 ft more, totaling 700 ft. In other words, the effective area will be \(\pi \times 700 \times 700 = 1,539,380\) sq ft.
Another variant is the diameter of the hole. Today in the Indian 🇮🇳 market, you can go up to 3 inches. This is a purely Indian 🇮🇳 initiative in the area of water management for the world 🌎. Sadly, that rickshaw 🛺 driver has not been recognized. Allah is JUST; He will pay him back more than anyone can imagine.
